Where We’ve Been

The Past Four Years

For nearly five years we’ve been hard at work combining Eurorack modules from our favorite companies with our own suite of accessories to provide a full service store to our customers across North America. We’ve had our ups and downs, great sales months and “why-are-we-doing-this” sales months, but at the end of the day we wouldn’t have it any other way.

As we encroach upon that all-important five-year mark, we wanted to look back on our journey so far, exploring what worked, what didn’t, and what we hope to accomplish in the future. Before we get started, there’s a few minor updates in the company we want to highlight.

City Near Mountain During Golden Hour

The Great Divide

With the new fall season comes a massive change in how we operate – as you may be aware, we’ve been a (mostly) two person operation, with me (Ronan) and one of my closest friends (Ryan) working in tandem to handle everything from new product design to website maintenance.

As we move forward into the Fall of 2024, Ryan has made the difficult decision to move his talents to the west coast, 2,200 miles away from our headquarters in Indiana – while he’s still an ever-important part of the business, we’re making some changes to what we do (and how we do it) to better integrate this change.

More Vodeq, Less Not-Vodeq

Over the next year, we’re excited to announce that we’re going to be shifting our focus to designing and creating our own lineup of modules, accessories, plugins, and more. While we absolutely adore our compatriots over in the Electro-Distro family, we’ve realized that our passion (and strengths) lie primarily in the creation of new creative products.

As a result, we’re going to be slowly phasing out our products from other brands while diving deeper into our own ideas. We’re excited to see where this journey will take us, and we hope you’ll join us.

The DDoS

On September 19th, our servers were hit with a random attack that spelled the end of our database. Unfortunately, we made the admittedly shortsighted decision to store all of our backups locally, and as such we lost a large chunk of our online presence. We’re working hard to recover it, but we can’t promise everything will be the same.

We did some heavy internal investigating of our systems and have implemented a three-stage backup process so this never happens again, but even so we know this was a massive inconvenience for our customers – we’re just happy to say that none of our customer or financial data was accessed, thanks to our encrypted server and failsafes.
